Tiny Mayreau doesn’t pulsate with action. What you’ll find is pretty beaches, unbelievable views and untouched nature. Our favorite things to do include a few spots in Mayreau but it’s in the other islands of the Tobago Cays where you’ll get the bulk of your action (if you need it)
Watch Sea Turtles Lay Their Eggs on Windward Beach
You won’t have to go far to see turtles laying their eggs. With its more secluded location on the Atlantic side of Mayreau, our very own piece of Windward Beach is where turtles come to hatch their eggs from April to July each year. It’s an experience that will make you appreciate conserving the environment even more
Swim in Salt Whistle Bay
Breathtaking doesn’t do this beach justice. Cerulean waters lap gently at white sands where palm trees sway in the wind and a few picturesque bars welcome beach goers. It’s actually picture perfect and if there’s one beach that can’t be missed in Mayreau, Salt Whistle Bay is it.
Have Seafood At Last Bar Before The Jungle
The Last Bar Before The Jungle sits on Salt Whistle Bay so the views while you enjoy a delicious lobster or red snapper meal will be out of this world. Locals frequent the area so it’s also great for people watching or meeting some of the locals
Sail To Canouan For a Round Of Golf
If you stay with us in Mayreau, you can be in Canouan island enjoying golf or one of the island’s pretty beaches in 25 minutes. Make it a whole day affair by arranging some watersports or a beach barbeque
Visit One of Carriacou 100 Rum Shops
Tiny Carriacou is known for having 100 rum bars within its shores so if you enjoy strong Caribbean rum, book a trip to the island to sample to your heart’s content. While you’re there, be sure to visit one of the colored sand beaches. Sparrow Bay has black sand created from volcanic activity and Sandy Island Beach has gorgeous pink sands that mix with white sands.
Scuba Dive or Snorkel In Tobago Cays
Seeing the Tobago Cays is a must if you stay in Mayreau. People from all over the world flock to the protected reefs of the area for the unbelievable beauty of the ocean and the underwater life. See schools of fish, turtles, and the healthy reef in all its majesty.
